I can not tell you how many times my Dad would call me up on Skype and have steam coming out of his ears, nose and eyes from the frustration of technology. This coming from the man that made me sit in front of the computer back in the 80’s instead of playing with my friend. lol

After explaining to me what was going on, he would share his screen with me so that I could walk him through the steps he needed to take in order to accomplish what he needed to. 

Y’all…These Skype sessions happened DAILY and sometimes 2-3 times a Day. Thank God I work for myself and was able to be readily available to my Dad. These sessions really started to pick up when he ventured onto Facebook to keep up with us kids. 

After doing this for a couple years I realized that there has to be more of the 50+ community out there that are experiencing the same thing. So we came up with the the Napoleon’s Idiot Series! This is where me and Dad would jump on Skype together, he would share his screen with me and I would record our sessions. Then I uploaded it to our YouTube Channel and my goodness…

Meeting Together is Easy!

Me and Dad use to use Skype all the time but since using Zoom for my Business I’ve come to really like it and love all the features it offers that Skype does not. Both platforms are FREE to use however, Zoom gives us the ability to

  • Share control of our mouse with one another too. Sometimes when working with my Dad it’s easier for me to take control of the mouse so I can show him around. Don’t worry, I won’t have control of your mouse unless YOU give me that control and it’s only for the length of our session. 😉
  • Recordings – Each session is recorded and you are given a link that only you can see so that you can continuously go back to our session until you’re 100% confident in doing what your were taught.

If you are more comfortable and familiar with Skype we can always use that platform as well. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible so you can choose which platform will work best for YOU!

Zoom (Most Popular)

This is the platform I highly suggest and prefer for many reasons but the two greatest ones are:
1. I can record our session so that you can go back and watch it if you need too.
2. You are able to share your mouse with me. This makes it even more easier for me to show you features on your screen you may not have known existed.
